Soundwave 2010
Featuring over 50 of the best international punk, hardcore, metal and rock bands that each scene has to offer, Soundwave 2010’s line-up is one of epic proportions! The alternative festival that tiptoed onto the scene a few short years ago kicked off its biggest year yet in Brisbane on a hot steamy summer day, without a doubt this festival will be the biggest event of the year for those who like to rock!
Meet The Krew: Ashley Briggs
"Fuck yeah! Now I wanna see everyone in this pit jumpin! Ready? Let's go!” Going to gigs is one of the most exhilarating experiences a music loving 17 year old could have. My name is Ashley Briggs. I live in Townsville and I’ll be composing blogs for the music section of this website. I have a huge interest in music, film and the arts.
Skeg featured in Auxiliary Issue #3
Skeg's interview with Horsebites is featured in Auxiliary Issue #3. Auxiliary is a Cairns-based zine produced by Auxiliary Graphic Design, a company most commonly known for producing some of the most contemporary event posters in Cairns. In conjunction with MOFO, Auxiliary hosted Staples, an exhibition of local zines.
Meet The Krew: Kelly Scott
Hi, I'm Kelly Scott (feels fantastic to post your last name all over the internet, doesn't it? Thank-you Facebook). I'm a 17 year old Cairns teenager with a massive interest in film, photography and sweet art. Next year I'll be moving to Brisbane to study Mass Communication at QUT, and I'll be working my arse off to score a career in the film industry, preferably as a post-production editor.
Yours The Demon
Sydney artist James Jirat has added some more illustrations to his portfolio go check it out. With a love for comic book illustration and sci-fi movies his works are not one to miss. James' work explores his take on fantasy hyper-masculinity with portraits inspired by Japanese Manga, slasher movie villains, pro wrestlers, biker gangs, and Elvis. I would love to work with him for Skeg!
“Ash Smokey Eyes"
So this is my first actual post on the Skeg site. I will hopefully be updating weekly with new looks or looks of other people I think are amazing. I have also decided that I will incorporate Fashion into my blog posts including what styles I like, what I want to buy and what I have already brought.
Meet The Krew: Kristy Wegner
Hi, my names Kristy Wegner. I’m one of the models for Skeg and I'll also be writing and composing blogs for the fashion section of the website. I'm 18 years old and I currently live in Brisbane. My passion and soul desire is to become a makeup artist and fashion designer, style wise I draw my inspiration from Taylor Momsen and Mary-Kate Olsen. I listen to the genre "indie" and my favourite musician is David Bowie.
For those who frequent this blog occasionally you may have noticed a few changes to the top of the blog. Basically we've implemented a series of categories so it's more user friendly and easier to search through. Along with these new changes I 've also got together a group of people who will be contributing to the blog, stay tuned for profiles on each of them.
Hartleyphoto
One of my favourite photographers has finally updated his website. It's a little bare at the moment but go check it out there's some solid work up already, varying from promotional shots to some more obscured yardlife can't wait to see what else he has planned for the new year!
Skeg Review - The Vine
The second review for Skeg this week - this time over at The Vine, read on for some words of wisdom from local fan Ashley Briggs.
This Life
So I recently came across this site a while back from a friend. I really enjoyed the content that they were producing and have been frequenting it for quite some time.
Skeg Interview On IATT!
I first came across Skeg Clothing sometime last month and was immediately impressed with everything they had to offer. Their website looked extremely professional, and they had the products to back it up, but what surprised me most is that this company is run by 17 year old Jahl Herapath.
Not the one to be pessimistic, Skeg encourages people to look at the bright side... with a repertoire of skate, music and fashion. So get on it, buy our stuff and spread the word!
